Itinerary of Marrakech to Merzouga 5 Days – Sahara Desert Tours – Camel Excursion
Day 1: Marrakesh , High Atlas , Telouet , Ait Ben Haddou 168 km
Early morning departure from Marrakech, climbing the High Atlas highlands via the Tizi n’Tichka (2260m), with photo stops at several spectacular views. Once you’ve reached the top, start descending towards the Kasbah of Telouet, a beautiful former seat of the Glaoui tribe’s formidable kings.
Many movies have been filmed in the Kasbah. Proceed to Ait Ben Haddou’s Ksar. Travel through the Ounila Valley, passing by abandoned salt mines and picturesque rivers that are bordered with Berber communities.
2 Day: Ait Ben Haddou , Skoura , Boutrhrart , Dades Valley 174 km
After breakfast, we will continue our sahara desert trip by driving around the colorful Berber villages of the Roses valley on the road of 1000 kasbahs, passing through numerous villages strengthened in hard-packed surface, continuing towards the Dades gorges via the village of Boutghrar with a brief stop to visit nomads in caves, and then continuing through the colorful Dades Valley to our hotel for the night.
Day 3: Dades Valley , Todra Gorge , Erfoud , Merzouga 278 km
After breakfast, we’ll continue our Sahara desert adventure by driving across the Dades Valley’s colorful Berber communities on the Road of 1000 Kasbahs. to reach Tineghir and its lovely palm grove We’ll proceed to the Todgha Gorge, where we’ll go on a journey through canyons that are around 300 meters high, a popular destination for mountain climbers.
After that, we’ll travel to the Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara Desert, stopping for lunch along the way.When we reach at the Erg Chebbi dunes, you will have a 1 hr 30 min camel ride to the oasis tent while viewing the sunset. Spending the night in a camp under the stars in the Merzouga Sahara Desert camp ,after dinner berber party with drums.
4 Day: Merzouga , Draa Valley , Agdez , Ouarzazate 368 km
After a peaceful and memorable night in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, where you can watch the sunrise over the dunes, we return with the camels to the hotel for breakfast and showers before departing for Rissani to explore the Souk area.
which includes the Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum and the palm grove.Lunch at Nkoub, then go through the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate. Dinner and stay at the Ouarzazate hotel.
Day 5: Ouarzazate , fint Oasis , Atlas Mountains , Marrakech 224 km
We’ll proceed to Fint Oasis after breakfast, a lovely palm grove made up of four authentic Berber communities. Enjoy Moroccan mint tea at a Berber house. After that, we’ll travel back to Marrakech over the high Atlas Mountains, dropping you off at your hotel.
